Grace's 9/10 Month Update.

WOW! 10 Months. I know I do this every month, but it really is going so quick. I have already started planning her 1st birthday. (It makes me want to cry just thinking about how much she's growing up)

Grace can finally roll over properly. Front to back, back to front. It's amazing. She's been doing it for a while now. One day she just could do it, and now there is no stopping her.
Crawling is still a work in progress. She shuffles backwards on her belly, and she can do 360 turns! The most movement she does is the bum shuffle, although it's not a full bum shuffle. I'm crossing my fingers that she will soon be fully on the move, however I am also dreading the fact that I while have to baby proof my whole house!

Weaning is still going amazingly well, I couldn't ask for a better eater. She really does like everything. Finger food is going slightly less better, she has tried little sandwiches, which she mushed into her high chair, among a variety of other things. …

Having A Break Is OK.

Having Grace has by far been the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my entire life, that being said it is the most rewarding, and I wouldn't change it for the world. However, and I'm sure many mums have found themselves thinking this at one time or another, I NEED A BREAK! I even feel bad just saying that, how could I possibly need a break from my own baby? What kind of mother does that make me? This past week I really have found it hard, but I have learnt that it is OK to need some time to yourself every now and again, you wouldn't be human if you didn't. Grace has been especially hard work this week, she has developed a dislike to me, yes me her mother, which makes it a million times harder to do, well anything. The only person she seems to like at the minute is her daddy, which is just too cute, but not very practical when he works all night and sleeps in the day. This is what inspired me to write this post. You will need a break every now and again, and it's ok…

Grace's 8 Month Update

Grace is 8 months old! How did this happen? I honestly can not believe how much she is learning and growing, it is so exciting, but at the same time it breaks my heart a little to know that my little baby is growing up. So in her last update we had started weaning her, and it is going great. She pretty much loves everything I have offered her. The only thing that she turned her nose up at was a pouch of fish pie, honestly it smelt horrid, but I've offered it her twice now and both times she has refused to eat it. Grace is having more textured food now and she seems fine with it, although we have had the occasional gypping incident. Grace is loving finger food at the minute, I haven't tried her with to many different things as I want her to get used to chewing food first before I bombard her with too much. She has had baby crisps, rusks, banana, and baby biscuits. It's so far so good, she's loved everything, so we are hoping we've got a good eater on our hands. Now, Gra…

Grace's First Easter.

This Easter was Grace's first. We don't celebrate Easter for the religious reasons, we just celebrate it in the chocolate giving way. Easter Sunday we didn't really do much. We ate chocolate and went to the pub in the afternoon to meet up with Marks family. Bank holiday Monday was the fun day! Up at our local working men's club, they hold an annual Easter party for the kids, they have games, music an Easter bonnet competition and of course Easter eggs. A few weeks earlier I had started making Grace and my niece Ellie's Easter bonnets. It took me and my sister a total of 3 hours to do them, although I did keep adding bits and bobs to them. I couldn't help it. Here is the finished product. All mine and my sisters hard work paid off, because Grace won first prize! She won an Easter egg and £10! WooHoo. We all had an amazing Easter bank holiday, and I am looking forward to the next one so I can do a bit more with Grace. Maybe an Easter egg hunt! Grace must have had a lo…

It's Been A While.

So it's been a while, Grace has well and truly taken over. We have had a lot happen over the past month. Unfortunately both my great grandparents passed away at the start of March, within a week of each other, it was a sad time, and I am truly grateful that Grace got to meet them both. They both lived long and happy loves, it was wonderful having the 5 generations within our family, even if it was only for a short time. On a lighter note, Grace is doing amazing. I will do her 8 month update and fill you in on everything she's been doing. At the minute she is a happy baby girl, who is totally obsessed with her daddy.

I have also recently decided that I will not be returning to work. I don't think I ever told you all what I did for a living, I was a supervisor in a clothing store in a huge shopping centre.
At the minute it is not right for our family, and if I'm honest it isn't worth the money. I would spend more money going back to work, what with fuel for the car, the …

Grace Is Loving Sensory Toys

Just a really quick one today. We took this picture of Grace the other night, and I could not stop laughing at it. It is the spiky, flashy ball I got for her a while ago now. We turned the lights off and started the ball flashing, and WOW, she was amazed. Her eyes kept going really wide. She looks so cute, just looking up as if to say 'Mum do you mind, I'm communicating with the aliens!' Anyway, I'm off to start another day of adventures with Grace, although we will probably just play all day. Laura x

Grace's 6 Month Update

I can not believe Grace is 6/7 months already, I know it's cliche to say but time really has flown by in the blink of an eye. One thing that is confusing me is the fact that Grace is 28 weeks old, a week older every Friday, so that is equal to 7 months, right? She was born on the 15th, so that would mean that on the 15th of every month she is 1 month older, hence she is 6 months? Anyway, I'm just rambling.....Grace is growing up so much, I have really noticed it in the past few weeks. She can finally sit up, unaided! I could tell for a while she was getting to the point where she was going to be able to do it on her own.
The look of frustration on her face when she would fall over was just heartbreaking, but she finally cracked it, and she couldn't be happier, and I couldn't be prouder. Another amazing thing is that we have started giving her finger food this week, nothing too much. She has tried a rusk, much of which ended up on the carpet, sofa, me and her self, and she&…

Bebe Style Deluxe 3-in-1 Highchair

As you all know, we started weaning Grace over a month ago now and we hadn't been using a highchair, until now.
For any first time mum, finding the right products for your little one is a very daunting task, and buying a highchair was no exception. After many hours of research we finally settled on one, the Bebe Style Deluxe 3-in1 Highchair from Amazon, link here. It came really quick, and I just couldn't wait to rip the box open and put it together.
Highchairs, in my opinion, can look a bit out of place, bulky and just all round an eyesore, but this one just seems too fit in well. Here it is in the highchair position,
This is the position we use when we feed Grace at the table, it fits perfectly, and she is the perfect height to feel involved at meal times. The position I've been using a lot recently is this one, It's the junior chair position, and I love feeding Grace with the highchair this low. Grace loves sitting in the highchair and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse whe…

Grace's First Night In Her Own Room.

As I told you all recently, Grace moved into her own bedroom last night, and my gosh did she surprise us!

Her usual bedtime routine is:

Daddy takes her upstairs at 7pm,
mummy changes her nappy,
daddy gives her her last bottle,
and she gets popped into her moses basket, and off she drifts too sleep, until the next morning!

So we continued this same routine, and it worked brilliantly. She went straight too sleep! I was absolutely surprised when Mark came downstairs at 7:15pm, and said she was completely out of it!

We checked on her several times throughout the night, and some how she had managed to wriggle her little self out from the tightly tucked in covers, and do a complete 90 degree turn!

How she managed this is beyond me. The covers were still tucked in neatly, but she was in the middle of the cotbed, verticle. I wasn't too worried as she was still sound asleep, and looked really comfy, the only think that worried me was that she would get cold. So we just had too keep putting her …

Grace Is Moving Out.

Grace is going to be 6 months on Friday, (where has the time gone?) and that means that she will be spending this weekend in her own room! :(
I really don't want my little baby to leave my bedside, but she's growing up, and to be honest I can't wait to redecorate our bedroom, more on that another time. I went with my mum yesterday to pick up Grace's new mattress, and it just looks too big. She is going to have so much room to wriggle about.
So like I said, this weekend, while daddy is here for support, she will spend the night in her own cot, and her own room. I'm sure I will be checking her more often than I already do throughout the night.

We will update once Grace has moved out. :(

Sensory Toys

I was browsing the many pages of Amazon earlier, and I came across a bunch of sensory type toys for Gracie.  We have been trying to get her to do more tummy time, but she really does not like it, and I have been looking for some toys to make it a little more interesting.  After searching for a while, I settled on 2 wooden maracas, mainly for me, a bouncy flashing ball, and the Bright Stars Shake & Spin activity balls.  Lately Grace has been showing an interest in her daddy's xbox controller. It lights up and she absolutely loves it, however it isn't ideal that it is covered in baby drool every time daddy goes to play. So I can not wait for the bouncy flashy ball to get here, I think she's going to love it. At the minute we are just trying as many different things as we can to try and help her enjoy tummy time.

Weaning with Grace.

We started weaning G last week, and my god does she love real food. She is only 5 months old, but she was showing all the right signs that she was ready for the real deal.  We started her off on Organix baby rice, just for lunch, which she was so interested in, for the first few days, but I could tell she wanted something abit more exciting. So we tried her with Organix strawberry & banana porridge, and she loved it! She could not get enough of it. Now we are in the second week, she is having food for breakfast & lunch. We have introduced fruit purée. She loves the Ella's Kitchen banana purée & the apple purée.  For now she's content with what we are giving her, but soon I'm sure she will be ready for some more interesting flavours! I can't wait. I'm a little too excited about giving her real food!
Here is a lovely pic of Grace eating her porridge this afternoon.
She's too cute

Christmas With The Bell's

I absolutely love Christmas.
It is by far my favourite holiday of the year, and this year (last year) was a very, VERY, special one, because our beautiful little girl Grace was here.

Our Christmas Day began with little Gracie waking us up with her usual giggles and smiles. We then went downstairs to see if Santa had been. He had! And Grace had been well and truly spoilt rotten. We managed to get this picture of her just at the right time.

How happy does she look?
We opened Gracie's presents (as much as I wanted her to open them herself, it just was not happening, wrapping paper in her mouth!)
During the present opening my grandma came to visit, with more presents for Grace. Many cuddles later, me, Mark & Grace popped to see my dad and my many sisters and brother, and again little G was spoilt with cuddles & presents, although I'm not complaining, Grace was loving all the attention, and I was loving the mini break from motherhood!
A 2 minute drive later and we arrived at Ma…
